Since I have spent a lot of time putting brief biographies and interviews with other Indie authors on my blog I thought I would present my own. You can check out my author promotion blog at http://writerswithvision.wordpress.com/welcome/
I was born in Berkshire, England in 1975. I have had Type 1 (Insulin Dependent) Diabetes since the age of 4 so I don’t remember a life that did not involve injections, blood tests and having to take care what I eat.
I have no children by choice, Personally I don’t see the appeal of throwing up every morning for 9 months, having to wear tents, going through unbelievable pain and then losing your figure, sex drive and sleep pattern in one fell swoop. I am hoping some day someone will explain this to me because quite frankly I just don’t get it…
I have been an avid scribbler since an early age. My earliest memories involve stapling sheets of paper together to make books. I have also had a few poems published in anthologies but from an early age I wanted to write a complete book. I have had several story ideas over the years but The Lynchcliffe Cuckoo Volume 1: Mise en Scène is the first thing I have ever followed through on. I started writing seriously after losing my partner, David, to renal cancer in 2008.
The Lynchcliffe series is a historical fiction series of adult romances. To date I have one complete trilogy, one 2/3 complete trilogy and two books of short stories to my name. All are available as eBook downloads from Amazon’s Kindle store.
I recently decided to self publish through Lulu and I am hoping to set the wheels in motion very soon to publish The Lynchcliffe Cuckoo Volume 1: Mise en Scène and Eye of the Storm: Lewis Franklin’s Story. There is a slight crossover with these two books so it makes sense to put them out first. Watch and follow this blog for further details as they emerge. To begin with the books will be available on Amazon UK where I have several potential sales and through the Lulu.com market place.
The Lynchcliffe series is, as I have mentioned a historical adult romance series so the books are not suitable for people under the age of 18 as they have adult content of a sexual nature and deal with adult themes such as murder, widowhood, sibling rivalry, rape and its aftermath, marital infidelity, the legacy of suicide and domestic violence.
The novels between them cover the time period between 1881 and 1919 covering the sinking of RMS Titanic, the first World War (which for those of us on the British side of the pond lasted from 1914 – 1918) and the Spanish flu pandemic.
I have built a small fan base and look forward to introducing people without Kindles to my work by virtue of paperbacks. The eBook market is far more lucrative than paperbacks, I realise that, but, as I experienced recently, there is nothing quite like holding a book you wrote in your hands. You can’t hold a Kindle to that experience.
Please watch and follow my blog to be kept abreast of developments and availability. I hope to have the first books out by the beginning of July at the latest.
