Lynchcliffe’s Declaration of Independence

In view of recent non developments resulting in the fact that The Lynchcliffe Cuckoo Vol 1: Mise en Scene paperback is STILL not available in the European and British Amazon marketplace I have been forced to rethink the future of the Lynchcliffe series.

I am also aware that another writing community friend’s book is also STILL not available in paperback format in the UK despite being published two months ago. Exploration of the Create Space website’s Help Section informs me that it is a simple thing to enable your books are distributed through Amazon’s European channels.  It is obviously an oversight although not necessarily accidental in cases of mine and my friend’s books.

Therefore I am planning to put my books out gradually through Lulu.com. They enable delivery to all major Amazon sites within 6 – 8 week of approval. Another feature of Lulu is that you have to buy a copy to approve which means that you actually get a copy before everyone else which, in my view, is as it should be. I STILL have not received a proof copy of The Lynchcliffe Cuckoo Vol 1: Mise en Scene. The books can also be purchased through Lulu themselves.

I am currently setting up a means by which I am able to make online purchases and then I shall move forward.

I have no wish for my books to be associated with such a company who regard ignoring their clients as acceptable. This is not acceptable or professional behaviour in my view.

A friend told me that success is the best revenge and I am determined to prove that she is right. The first book I intend to put out through Lulu will be Eye of the Storm: Lewis Franklin’s Story which effectively ends  where Vol 1 picks up with Margaret and Franklin’s first meeting.

Once I approve The Lynchcliffe Cuckoo Vol 1 on Lulu I shall send instructions for my publisher to remove the existing volume from sale.  I am stating my independence from Night to go it alone. The Kindle versions continue to do well through no one’s efforts but my own and I am proud of that.

I hope that you will wish me luck with this new venture.

Good luck, Mel, and wishing you much success. Self-publishing is the new frontier, enabling you to have total control of your books and allowing you to enjoy all the profits of your hard work.

  3. Good luck! Be patient because sometimes it takes a while to go through the approuval process. Just saying….

    Hi Mel
I sincerely wish you the very best for the future. At least this way you will have complete control.
